Getting here then getting around

Lille Metropole is putting a specific transport system in place to help supporters get to and from the Stade Pierre Mauroy, but also to travel all around the Lille Metropole during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (from 26 July to 11 August). Due to the large number of people attending the event, please plan ahead your travels.

There are several means of transport available to get to the Stade Pierre Mauroy:

  • Metro: Line 1 (M1) and "stadium" bus;
  • Bicycle;
  • Car: nearby parking spaces are available (some free of charge, charges apply elsewhere).
  • Accessibility for people with disabilities.

Getting there by metro and "stadium" bus

Stade Pierre Mauroy is served by public transport via the 2 metro lines on the Ilévia network:

  • Line 1 (M1): direct access from the centre of Lille, 14 minutes by metro then 15 minutes on foot;
  • "Stadium" buses : direct access, without stopping, from Lille-Flandres station, approximately 30 minutes.This is the most suitable solution for Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM).

"Stadium" buses run on the schedule: H-2:30 a.m. (before the 1st session) – H+1:30 a.m. (after the end of the last session).

Please note: to streamline travel and limit the meeting of traffic flows around the Stade Pierre Mauroy, especially during matches, fans travelling to the stadium by metro should get off at the 4 Cantons station (Line 1 - a 15 minute walk away); and when going home they should board the metro at the Cité Scientifique station (Line 1 - a 15-minute walk away).

Public transport services to the Stade Pierre Mauroy will be reinforced during the 16 consecutive days of the 2024 Olympic Games from Saturday 27 July to Sunday 11 August. It will be based on the M1 metro line and on a Stadium bus system between Lille Flandres station and the stadium.

The transport service on the M1 line, the principal route of access to the stadium, will be increased by +40% to +60% during the day and by +80% in the evening, allowing a maximum frequency of 1 minute 20 during the day to be reached.

Four hourly extensions up to 1:30am are planned on the metro Line 1 and the tramway for the days of the handball quarter- and semi-finals on 6, 7, 8 and 9 August.

It is strongly recommended to arrive on site at least 1h30 before the start of the event.

Did you know?

In 2023, Lille Metropole launched Open Payment (the option of paying for travel tickets by bank card directly at dedicated terminals) in anticipation of the significant number of visitors expected for the Rugby World Cup and the Grande Braderie. The success of the experiment led Ilévia to extend the use of the Open Payment system up to the 2024 Olympic Games at the 9 relevant stations in Lille Metropole, thus allowing travellers to benefit from a smoother, simplified travel experience.
